A duet based on an outdoor phenomenological study of our perceptions in the Roehampton University campus . An exchange of different perceptions between two people observing each other and the natural environment. A layering of our perceptions, where we are both turning inside out and outside in.
We recorded our conversations that began as verbal descriptions of our surroundings that gradually developed into expressing our perceptions of the natural environment around us. Our attention was gradually tuning into how we perceived things for the first time and how that had changed during the process.
The recordings of our conversations and sounds, transferring and ‘translating’ the traces of our perceptions to each other through movement and sound, guided us in the transition from being outdoors and into the empty studio, where we further explored how we can engage the audience in to the process of perceiving our own perceptions.
